How to pick a pet photo that prints well

You probably have a hundred photos of them on your phone. Here is how to pick the one.

    Check the eyes

    Zoom in on their face. If the eyes are sharp on your screen, they will be sharp on the puzzle. Pets move, so motion blur is the most common problem we see.

    Watch out for dark fur

    Black dogs and cats photographed indoors can turn into one dark shape. Pick a daylight photo where you can see detail in the coat.

    Look at the background

    A black cat on a white couch is a beautiful photo and a very hard puzzle. Varied color and texture make it more fun to build.

    Upload the original

    Screenshots and photos saved from social media lose most of their quality. Use the file straight from your phone or camera.

    Leave room around the ears

    Photos are cropped to fit the puzzle shape, so keep ears, tails and paws away from the very edge.

Can I make a puzzle of any kind of pet?

Yes. Dogs and cats are the most common, but any photo works: horses, rabbits, birds, reptiles, or the whole barnyard.

Can I add my pet's name?

Yes. In the designer, tap Add text to put words right on the puzzle, then choose the font, color and size. You see it on the puzzle before you order.

Can I put several pets, or several photos, on one puzzle?

Yes. Every custom puzzle takes up to 10 photos. A collage works well for puppy-to-grown-up timelines, homes with several pets, or a lifetime of favorite moments.

What if my photo is blurry or dark?

Upload it anyway. A real person reviews every order before it prints, and we never print a blurry puzzle. If a photo might print soft, we enhance it at no charge whenever we can. If it truly will not work, we contact you and help you pick another.

How long does a custom pet puzzle take?

We print and ship every order within 5 business days from our shop in Washington, Missouri. The carrier's delivery time comes after that, usually 2 to 5 business days.

What does the puzzle come in?

A metal keepsake tin with your pet's photo printed on the lid, included with every order.
