1) The Largest Jigsaw Puzzle Collection
This current world record is held by Luiza Figueiredo (Brazil). The record was set on July 9, 2017 when she collected her 1,047th unique puzzle set! You would need an awfully big closet to store all of those jigsaw puzzles! Imagine they were all personalized puzzles from us!
Luiza started collecting puzzles all the way back in 1967 and over the years has built up her collection. In 2010 she set a record with 238 jigsaw puzzles, and in 2012 it had more than doubled to 502 jigsaw puzzles!
2) The Largest Jigsaw Puzzle Ever Made
The largest jigsaw puzzle ever made had a staggering 12,320 pieces! Imagine how long that would take to assemble! You would need an entire army to put that together.
It was completed on July 7, 2018 in Dubai, UAE. It covered an incredible amount of real estate as well, measuring in at 65,905 square feet! A truly incredible show of teamwork and determination.
3) Most Pieces in a Jigsaw Puzzle
For this record, the University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam gathered a puzzle with over half a million pieces! The puzzle was completed on September 24, 2011 and it required the work on 1,600 students to complete! The students spent over 15 hours just breaking up the puzzle!
